**Giveaway and coupon details at the bottom for you impatient folks!**
I admit, I’m a bit of a hippie. I’m not sure when it happened. Perhaps it was the cloth diapers, maybe it was the cup, or perhaps it was when we jumped into paleo land, but somewhere along the way, I found myself tossing out just about everything in my kitchen cabinets, laundry room, bathroom cabinets, medicine cabinets and oh yes, the cleaning products that lived under the sink.
Once upon a time I used to use bleach on all the things…. Partly because I didn’t want to have to scrub too hard and also because I loved the impeccable white it helped me achieve.
Over the years I realized I was killing the good bacteria that lived on our countertops along with the bad and also that, shocker, inhaling clorox while you clean may not be such a great idea.
Enter baking soda and vinegar, which is dandy but it doesn’t always work and let’s face it it doesn’t smell great. So, though I kept using my trusty baking soda and vinegar for some things, I sprung some serious dough for all natural cleaning products from whole paycheck. If you’re a baller, that’s what I would recommend. Heck, hire a full time housekeeper too cause that is would certainly be my number 1 choice if it was an option. For the rest of us, read on…
Last year, when I got my hands on a copy of Heather’s ebook, DIY Non-Toxic Cleaning Recipes, I was thrilled to transition both my cleaning products for millionaires and my cleaning products for hippies, to homemade (read: cheap) but effective cleaning products that smell great. It doesn’t hurt that they look beautiful, like something out of a vintage catalog either!
Recipes like non-chlorine bleach, rosemary soft scrub, and a natural degreaser are sure to blow you away.
The good news is you can get a spic and span house without chemicals and without spending a fortune!
I wrote a review of DIY Non-Toxic Cleaning Recipes which you can read here. Heather is generously offering to giveaway 2 copies of her DIY Non-Toxic Cleaning Recipes ebook to 2 Hollywood Homestead readers.
